Paired Placements for Trainee Teachers

The aim of this project was to develop and improve approaches to paired secondary mathematics placements for student teachers in UCP Marjon's partnership schools. A model of partnership using the driver-navigator metaphor was developed to describe the shared responsibilities for teaching in a shared class.  Experience suggests that these placements are of benefit to: the student teachers; the pupils they teach; the partnership schools and their staff; and to UCP Marjon.  Further details of this project are provided in the report below (Wilson, 2011).

On 9th March 2012 Paul ran a workshop on paired placements, funded by the Higher Education Academy.  The slides from this workshop are also available below.
